Terms of service
The boring-but-necessary bit.
What we agree to do, what you agree to do, and what happens if something goes wrong.

1. The service
Trek Permits Nepal ("we", "us") is an independent permit-procurement service operated by a Singapore-registered company. We submit applications for trekking entry permits to Nepal's National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) on behalf of customers ("you") and forward the resulting permit PDFs.
We are not a registered trekking agency. We are not affiliated with NTNC, DNPWC, the Department of Immigration, or any other body of the Government of Nepal. We do not provide guides, porters, transport, accommodation, or any trekking services beyond procuring the entry permit itself.
2. Your responsibilities
By using the service, you confirm that:
- The information you provide is accurate, complete, and matches your travel documents.
- You hold a valid passport and a valid Nepali visa (or will, by the entry date).
- You have appropriate travel insurance for trekking at altitude — strongly recommended, not optional in practice.
- You will follow all rules of the conservation area, including the Minimum Impact Code printed on the permit.
- If your trek enters a Restricted Area (e.g. Manaslu Circuit, Upper Mustang, Tsum Valley, upper Rolwaling), you have separately obtained a Restricted Area Permit and licensed guide via a registered Nepali agency.
3. Pricing and payment
Prices are displayed at checkout in the currency you select, calculated from the live NPR/your-currency exchange rate plus a small buffer to cover currency volatility between payment and our settlement with NTNC. Our service fee is shown separately from the permit cost.
Payment is processed by Stripe. By paying, you authorise us to charge your card for the quoted amount and to submit a corresponding application to NTNC.
4. Refunds
Refund eligibility is set out in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. NTNC permits are non-refundable once issued — this is an NTNC rule we cannot override.
5. Delivery
We commit to submitting your application within 24 hours of payment, with the resulting permit PDF delivered to your email shortly after NTNC issues it. In practice this is almost always faster.
Delays caused by NTNC system outages, public holidays in Nepal, or rejection of your application are outside our control. We will keep you informed and refund per the refund policy where applicable.
6. Limitation of liability
We provide the service on a best-effort basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (missed flights, cancelled treks, etc.) caused by issues outside our direct control.
Trekking in Nepal carries inherent risks. We do not assess your fitness, your route choice, or your preparation. Decisions made on the trail are your responsibility.
7. Intellectual property
The site design, copy, brand and code are ours. The permit PDFs you receive are issued by and remain the intellectual property of NTNC. You may use the permit PDF for the purpose it was issued (entering the conservation area).
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version in effect at the time you paid. Material changes will be communicated via the site and to customers with active orders.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute that can't be resolved by email will be settled by the courts of Singapore.
